Alappuzha(Alleppey)

Alappuzha (Alleppey) is a historic coastal town in Kerala, India, famous for its scenic backwaters and canals. Once a major trading port of the Travancore Kingdom, it was developed in the 18th century by Raja Kesavadas and became an important center for spice and coir trade. Often called the “Venice of the East,” Alappuzha today is a world-known tourist destination, celebrated for houseboats, Vembanad Lake, and the Nehru Trophy Snake Boat Race.
